From the open-air market to open studios, there are all sorts of opportunities to interact with artists and makers during the 2024 New London Art Stroll.
The Garde Lobbies will be open for New London Art Stroll and will feature local artists
Bryan R Tyler and Andrea Lawl Manning.
BRYAN R. TYLER
is a representational artist based in southeastern Connecticut. Tyler earned his BFA from the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in 2000 with a major in painting. Legally blind since birth, he uses his unique circumstance to create distinctive artworks that meld modern color and application with classical techniques. His oil paintings and pastels are shown regularly throughout New England and are in collections across the United States.
ANDREA LAWL MANNING
is a New London-based mixed media artist. Her recent work spans two-dimensional paintings to in-the-round sculpture and installation, weaving together colorful graphic images and textural forms. Andrea is a constant explorer of color, material, and process. Her work is an investigation into the gross, the solitude, and the struggle of existing – and their coexistence with joy and humor.
Andrea studied at the Glasgow School of Art and holds a BFA from Pratt Institute. She’s exhibited in New York, Glasgow, Scotland, Southern CT, and extensively throughout the Long Island Region. Selected exhibitions include shows at the Islip Art Museum, The Heckscher Museum, Art League of Long Island, AIR Gallery, Superfine Art Fair, Kehler Liddell Gallery, the Living Gallery Outpost, with a solo show at One River School Port Jefferson.
On display from Aug 3 through September 3, 2024
