The Sleeping Beauty!

Experience a timeless tale of enchantment and love expressed through the art of DANCE. Deep in a century-long slumber, Aurora, the beautiful princess, and her kingdom await the power of true love’s kiss. This classic performance, set to Tchaikovsky’s incredible score, will transport us through this beloved fairy tale with enchanting woodland characters such as Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Puss in Boots, a blue bird, benevolent Godmother Fairies, a wicked fairy named Carabosse and Aurora’s spell-breaking Prince Desire.

Our enchanting Cast includes our professional ADT Company which includes Isabel Cary (ADT teacher formerly with Washington Ballet) and Company trainees (two of whom were “Clara” in Festival Ballet Providence’s Nutcracker this past December). Professional Company guests include McGee Maddox (Former Principal Dancer with National Ballet of Canada and Broadway Star), George Sanders (NYC City Center Dance, Broadway, Former dancer with Memphis Ballet) and Victoria Jaenson (former dancer at Charlotte Ballet & BTC). Dancers from Hartt Dance Division and the New London High School Multi-Magnet Campus join us through our community program.

AMA Dance Theatre Summary:

AMA Dance Theatre (ADT), located in Mystic Connecticut, proudly serves families from our New London and Southern Rhode Island communities, and is the only New London county pre-professional training school with a professional company. ADT’s excellence in teaching includes the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum and the Nan Giordano Certificate Program® in jazz technique. We are a member of the International Dance Council (CID/UNESCO) which enables students to apply for the International Certification of Dance Studies, a validation of dance studies applicable all over the world. Our School & Foundation is also partnered with PTMSC, having all the support and care to prevent and recover our dancers from injuries with their dance medicine program.

ADT cultivates the art exploring classical and contemporary ballet, influenced by various styles of dance. The Company is a group of professional artists whose talent and artistry stands unmatched anywhere in our region. Committed to equity, our mission is to make dance accessible to our community, aiming to bring world-class dance to audiences of all ages and backgrounds through programs affiliated with our Foundation.
