“Act 1, Act Tú”

Bilingual Theater program

presents

Bodas de sangre

(English: Blood Wedding)
play by Federico García Lorca

In 1920s rural Spain, a Bride faces an impossible choice: follow society’s expectations and marry her Bridegroom, or follow her heart and be with Leonardo despite the hatred her family has for his. Federico Garcia Lorca weaves a tragic tale that explores the consequences of a society that views marriage as a means of profit rather than love, and it expertly addresses the topics of love, sexuality, and violence through the lens of marriage. NOTE: this production is performed in Spanish.

“Act 1, Act Tú” is dedicated to creating unique, rewarding, and fulfilling theatre experiences that are accessible regardless of English language proficiency. If you want to get involved, please contact us. The Hispanic Alliance welcomes new volunteers and actors!
