Katerina McCrimmon (Nina) is honored to join the 20th Anniversary Concert of In the Heights, celebrating a story that has shaped the landscape of contemporary musical theatre. A Miami-born performer of Cuban heritage, Katerina broke onto the national stage as Fanny Brice in the Broadway tour of Funny Girl, with Entertainment Weekly calling her “the next greatest star” with a “once-in-a-generation voice.” Her theatre credits include The Rose Tattoo (Broadway), Evita (The Muny), The Counterfeit Opera (Little Island), The Light in the Piazza (New York City Center Encores!), Ride the Cyclone (McCarter Theatre), and Ah, Wilderness! (Hartford Stage) as well as developmental works at The O’Neill and Williamstown Theatre Festival. She recently debuted her solo show, Katerina McCrimmon: Naked, at Joe’s Pub. A graduate of Florida State University, Katerina is a Presidential Scholar in the Arts and a proud YoungArts winner. Playing Nina—a young woman navigating identity, home, and the pursuit of her dreams—feels deeply personal: a love letter to every kid who has felt torn between worlds, yet still dares to soar.
