Don McLean’s debut album, “Tapestry,” marked his emergence as an underground sensation, earning praise and commercial success. His magnum opus, “American Pie,” catapulted McLean to international stardom making history as the longest song to top the charts. Its profound impact solidified his status as a musical luminary, and he continued to captivate audiences with timeless classics like “Vincent,” and his versatility crossed over various genres, from folk to country, garnering widespread acclaim.

McLean’s influence transcended generations, with artists like Madonna and George Michael paying homage to his work through covers and interpretations. His enduring legacy was further cemented with inductions into the Grammy Hall of Fame and the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry. He continues to inspire new generations of artists and enchant audiences with timeless melodies as his legacy as a musical trailblazer endures, leaving an indelible mark on the fabric of American music.

Don has had the honor of receiving stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and The Las Vegas Walk of Stars and was recently inducted into The Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville.

 


Scott Gordley Quartet

 

The Scott Gordley Quartet, for many years a trio, has played the East Coast—primarily New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island, for the past 25 years. Fronted by tenor and baritone sax player Scott Gordley, the band has been a popular attraction at jazz venues and festivals as well as local clubs in the Southeastern Connecticut/Rhode Island area. Their album, Off the Cuff, The Scott Gordley Trio can be heard on Spotify as well as most major streaming services.

Scott Gordley has been on the Connecticut/Rhode Island music scene for the past 35 years, playing a mixture of jazz and blues saxophone for numerous east coast bands including Little Anthony & the Loco-Motives; Johnny & the East Coast Rockers; Special 20; Erik Narwhal & the Manatees as well as Sugar Daddy and Boston’s own, the Part Time Lovers. He has appeared on stage with numerous national recording artists including Johnny Clyde Copeland; Shemekia Copeland; Susan Tedeschi; Willie J. Laws; Greg Piccolo; Christine Ohlman; Sugar Ray Norcia and James Montgomery. He is currently a member of Johnny & the East Coast Rockers and the Subliminals when he isn’t fronting the Scott Gordley Quartet.

Parallel to his music career has Mr. Gordley has maintained a thriving studio practice as an internationally recognized artist who has painted the likes of President Bill Clinton for the German weekly publication, Focus; New York Magazine theater critic Edith Oliver; Tiger Woods for Time magazine; both Cher and Madonna for Esquire magazine and famed actor James Earl Jones for the Eugene O’Neill Theater in NYC. Throughout his dual careers as musician and artist Mr. Gordley has served as department head for 3 separate colleges—Mitchell College, Montclair State University and Ringling College of Art & Design.

Jan Jungden

Jan Jungden developed her R&B roots with the eclectic “Jake and the Family Jewels” touring the Northeast and playing such clubs as the Bottom Line and Lonestar in New York City and Toad’s Place in New Haven.  Jan has played solo piano along the Connecticut shoreline and currently plays jazz with The Jan Jungden Trio and the Subliminals, salsa with the Latin group Benetu, funk with FUSE Funk Band and freelances with other area bands.  Jan’s keyboard versatility keeps things interesting whether she’s playing a funky rhythm on clavinet or burning up a solo on piano or organ. Then she’ll surprise audiences by soaring on the flute or singing a smooth jazz tune.  Jan has released two albums of primarily original material – Smooth Ride by the Jan Jungden Trio and Light it Up by Fuse Funk Band. She recently released a new single, FUnK 2020, which has a heavy groove and some wild synthesizer work! Jan has a B.S. from UConn and studied jazz at the University of Bridgeport.

Adam Anderson

Adam Anderson is an eastern Connecticut native. Playing music since a young age, he recalls hearing his father playing chords on the living room piano and following that inspiration. Starting on alto saxophone at age eight he subsequently followed the study of music across many instruments. Landing on his love of bass in his early 20s, he has asserted this love as his principal instrument. Playing as both a band leader and accompanist with many musicians across CT, he has helped reinforce a communal goal for building a strong local culture around live musical performance.

Michael Winslow

Micheal Winslow is a versatile drummer with a passion for pushing the boundaries of rhythm and sound. Drawing inspiration from legends like Jimmy Chamberlain, Ringo Star , Quest Love and the avant-garde energy of The Mars Volta, Michael has developed a unique style that blends the complexity of jazz with the intensity of rock, the groove of funk, and the rhythmic flair of Latin music.

With years of experience playing in various bands and projects such as Incognito Sofa Love, Fatal Film, The Hempsteadys and the Subliminals, Michael brings a dynamic presence to every performance, whether in the studio or on stage. Known for his technical proficiency and creative improvisation, he continues to explore new musical territories, making each beat a journey.
