Stage Talk with Rick Koster

Where every show has something to say.

You don’t want to know the alleged secret meaning behind Fleetwood Mac titling their 12th album Tusk.

Of course, many of you will now immediately access Wikipedia and get to the root of the issue – pun gleefully intended. That’s on you.

In the meantime, let’s face it, before Fleetwood Mac, just hearing the word “tusk” made most of us want to brush out teeth.

SO … once and for all: When you arrive in the Garde Arts Center on Friday, Nov. 14 for an 8 p.m. show by Tusk – it’s not a TED talk by dental professionals.

Rather, it’s a concert by arguably the world’s finest Fleetwood Mac tribute act.

Do not anticipate a fake, witchy Stevie Nicks twirling, or a counterfeit Mick Fleetwood shooting dark glances a lookalike Lindsay Buckingham for stealing away Christine McVie or whatever soap opera-ish in-band drama was going on while they were otherwise creating some of the finest pop music ever made.

No! Tusk are five superb musician/vocalists whose purpose is to precisely duplicate a career-spanning array of Fleetwood Mac greatness – and they do so with the gleeful abandon of true fans getting to live out their own dreams.

The focus of course will be on the multi-platinum years and hits from “Rhiannon,” “The Chain” and “World Turning” to “Hold Me,” “Don’t Stop” and “Say You Love Me.”

But if you’re a fan of those early days, when Peter Green and Danny Kirwan led the band, don’t worry – Tusk hasn’t forgotten you, either.

All told, there’s plenty of Tusk for everyone.
