Summer on Stage Session Three: King Arthur’s Quest

King Arthur, of legend and song, strode across Medieval England with courage and confidence…or did he? What if the troubles of his kingdom threatened to overwhelm him? Hope for the best outcome as your favorite characters of Camelot – Arthur, Guinevere, Merlin, Taleisin, the Raven, and Lancelot wrestle with the challenges faced by their people. Follow the original twist on this familiar story as it weaves its way through a landscape full of surprises!
The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for more than 40 years now from Montana to Japan, and will visit nearly 1,200 communities this year with up to 44 teams of Tour Actor/Directors. MCT’s mission is the development of life-skills in children through participation in the performing arts. Creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills and self-esteem are all characteristics that are attained through the participation in this unique, educational project.
The tour team arrives with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play…except the cast. The team holds an audition and casts the 50-60 students enrolled in the Garde’s Summer On Stage each week, each weeks show is an original adaptation of classic children’s stories that you know and love. The show is rehearsed throughout the week culminating in two public performances on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
